Anvil HUD

For makers who sell

Which of your products actually make money?

Most makers can't say. Anvil HUD prices every product the way the math really works, fees and shipping baked in, and flags the ones quietly selling at a loss. 12 maker crafts, 18 trades, 7 services, and digital.

The cost engine is free on every craft. Create an account to save up to 10 products. $9.00/mo unlocks unlimited.

35% margin, after the channel's cut

What it does

Pricing is the core, but it grew into a whole shop: catalog, jobs, orders, inventory, and the books. Your craft's engine is the same on every screen, so the math doesn't change shape just because you're looking at it from a different angle.

Drop a file → instant price

3D prints read weight, time, and colors off the G-code. Laser cuts read the footprint and cut length off an SVG. Every other craft is form-driven: enter your material, machine, and time. Then the same engine layers material, machine, labor, packaging, failure buffer, overhead, your target margin, and the channel's fees. See the breakdown line by line, audit every number against where it came from.

Catalog with per-shop pricing

Save every product, across every craft. Tag each with the shops you sell on. The same piece shows $8 on your site and $9.49 on Etsy, with Etsy's 6.5% + 3% + $0.45 baked in, not bolted on. Project totals know when parts ship in one box under one listing, so fees only bite once.

Job log + learned failure rate

Log every job, print, cut, or pour: success, failure, what it actually used. After 5 jobs of a product, the assumed 10% buffer gets replaced by your shop's real rate, automatically. Pricing gets sharper as you ship.

Hobbyist & Seller dashboards

Two lenses on the same data. Hobbyist shows what your craft is costing: time, material, machine wear. Seller shows what it's earning: revenue, take-home, fee drag, top earners. Numbers in JetBrains Mono so they line up.

Orders + marketplace sync

Auto-sync orders from Etsy, Square, Shopify, and WooCommerce, or let your own Stripe sites push them straight in. Each order gets its own number, matches your catalog, queues the work, and records the sale through that channel's fees. Import past sales from a CSV too.

Inventory + the books

Track stock across every craft, with a burn-rate forecast and low-stock alerts so a job never stalls on an empty spool. On Business, log expenses for a true profit and loss, and turn won bids into invoices for saved clients.

How it works

  1. Drop a file (G-code for 3D, an SVG for laser) or enter your inputs (every other craft is form-driven), or build a line-item bid if you're a trade
  2. Save it to your catalog with the shops you list it on
  3. Queue jobs and log outcomes from the same screen
  4. Watch the failure rate and dashboards sharpen as the data accumulates

One forge, three engines

12 maker crafts. 18 trades. Plus digital, all in one forge.

Anvil started as an hourly-researched 3D printing calculator and grew into a forge of three purpose-built engines: one prices a maker's unit for the shelf, one bids a trade or service job, and one amortizes a digital file. Different work, different math, every line published.
